I'm both blessed and cursed to have the CLEO office situated somewhat near Great World City, Tiong Bahru and Robertson Quay. Blessed because of the countless yummies I get to eat at Pepperoni Pizza, Gastronomia, High Society, Ramen Champion, Cedele, Poulet, Skinny Pizza, Tiong Bahru Bakery, Anthesis, Toby's Estate, Kith Cafe, Common Man, (the list goes on), and cursed because I've been gaining weight. And no, I'm not humble-boasting to fish for compliments.
While I'm not advocating thigh-gaps here - because even the hottest women such as Rihanna, Beyonce, and Kim K (Hey, don't judge! I work in a magazine company!) don't have them, I subconsciously use thigh-gaps (or the lack thereof) to gauge my weight, since my thighs are the first place where all my fats go to reside in. But seriously, all my thighs do nowadays are kiss and make out with each other. Not cool.
Anyhow, aside from the slight trouble in paradise, I do have a really good recommendation to make:
Common Man Coffee Roasters - 22 Martin Road #01-00, Singapore 239058 |
Fluffy brioche French toast, berries compote, premium maple syrup & Kapiti vanilla ice-cream - $18 |
IT WAS THE BOMB!
Okay, they really don't have a shorter name, but I'm pretty sure pointing it out on the menu or telling the wait staff that you want 'French toast' will suffice. I know paying $18 for 2 pieces of bread, some berries, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream is kind of extreme, but seriously, try them out. You won't regret it. I used to pine for Toby's Estate's French toasts (I heard they changed their menu though), but once you go to Common Man, you can never quite go back. It was THAT good.
